Summer School

The DAPS Global Summer School is one of the most innovative events of the year. It is a unique three-day retreat which invites healthcare professionals and students from all backgrounds to participate in an unforgettable experience.

The aim of the Summer School is to bring together the most eager and fertile minds in healthcare and to get them to explore themes and ideas in novel and interesting way. The feedback from the Summer School is always incredible. Those who participate find it to be a truly worthwhile experience, improving who they are as professionals.

Summer School Activities

The Summer School was setup to find individuals who had a passion for innovation in healthcare and the activities at the Summer School are designed to ascertain and develop exactly that. The Summer School activities are listed below, but what individuals gain from the experience of participating can be far greater.

Debates

Teams are given current, topical issues within healthcare to debate against each other. This is always a lively session with teams really getting stuck in. The result however is not always as expected.

Campaigns

Team are asked to develop an innovative campaign which can be rolled out across the NHS on a given topic/area. The results are always fantastic.

Technology

Teams are required to develop a technological solution to healthcare. This activity demands a level of creativity and innovation from participants, to imagine what the future of healthcare could be.

Problem-Solving

Each team is given a particular problem to solve. The problems reflect real-life problems encountered in the NHS, which have a number of aspects which need to be considered holistically.

QI Presentations

Attendees at the Summer School are invited to present their Quality Improvement projects to their colleagues with each presentation being followed by questions to explore the projects further.

Talks

Talks are delivered at the Summer School on issues which will directly benefit the participants from the perspective of Quality, Management, Leadership and Innovation.
